THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
After all the English colonies were established, the people that lived in this new land wanted to create a government that would best help the citizens of America. Yet, before they could do so, they needed to break ties with the government of England and assert that they will now hold the power to govern a country amongst themselves. Because England wanted to maintain its political and economic control over the colonies, this meant war. In this part of the exhibition, you will learn more about the American Revolution.

The image shown above is how I think about the relationship between Patriot soldiers and British soldiers. I used color to represent elements between these two groups of people. Just like water and fire, Patriots soldiers and British soldiers couldn’t get along with each other. The color I used for their eyelashes is yellow, it represents these two groups of people have the same characteristics. Patriot soldier has a partial blue color on his eyelashes, and British soldier has partial red color on his eyelashes, it means even though they are the same type of people, but they work for different dreams. Where blue clouds and red clouds mix up is the place where battle is happening, you can’t see other people because in battle, people have to be aware of their enemies, and that is exactly what these two people are doing now.

About the Battle of Princeton:
Around 80 patriots soldiers were injured, dead in the battle, and around 275 british soldiers were injured, dead in the battle.
The battle began on January 3, 1777.
The battle of Princeton encouraged Patriots soldiers’ spirit, it proved that they can win against the mighty British soldier. That is not all, at the same time, British soldiers’ spirits were weakened because they were defeated by a group of amateur soldiers.
The war ended really quick, it ended the same day they began the war.
Fun fact, British soldiers thought they had killed Geroge Washington. The reason why they think the man they shot is Washington is because the man is a high-ranking officer, and disagree to surrender before them. The man that was being shot is Washington’s friend, Brig. Gen. Hugh Mercer.
