NAVEYAH

This graphic compares the views of Jefferson, a Democratic-Republican and Hamilton, a Federalist, connecting these views to the Democratic Party's today.

Hamilton and Jefferson both had their differences. Hamilton wanted a strong central government and Jefferson wanted the people to have a say. Hamilton believed that Blacks and Whites were equal in ability and wanted to end slavery. Jefferson believed blacks were "inferior in both mind and body" and supported the continuation of the institution of slavery. Another difference between them two was that Hamilton was a strong supporter of a national bank, but Jefferson thought this was unconstitutional, he strongly disagreed and did not think all states should assume the nation’s debt.
